The input screen of the “SimpleWeight” app is optimized for quickly entering the data right after measuring the weight, and not intended to enter many past data at once. Thus, the past data input is limited to within the last 3 months.
If you would like to input many past data at once, it is recommended to export to the Google Document, and input the data on the Spread Sheet on your PC, then import the modified data.
Please follow the steps below.
1. Open the “SimpleWeigth” app on your iPhone/iPod touch, and tap on the “Import/Export” button on the weight input screen.
2. If you use the Import/Export feature for the first time, the “Sign In” screen will appear. If you have a Google account, tap on the “Sign In” button. If not, tap on the “Create a Google Account” button.
3. If you tap on the “Sign In” button, the “Sign In” screen will appear. Type the email address and the password for the Google account and tap on the “Sign in” button. (If you enable 2-step verification on your Google account, type in the verification code in the next screen.)
4. Tap on the “Authorize” button and wait for the authentication screen to close automatically.
5. Import/Export screen will appear. Tap on the “Export” button to start exporting, and wait for the export to complete.
6. On a web browser of your PC or iPhone/iPod touch, access to the Google Document Spread Sheet(https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/) and look for the file named “SimpleWeight-Export.csv”. If you couldn’t find the file in the list, type the filename in the search text box and click on the search button.
7. Click on the “SimpleWeight-Export.csv” to open the file. The data will be displayed in the ascending (old -> new) order.
8. Insert a row in the date you want to add. For example, if you want to enter a data older than the 2nd row, click on the row number “2” at the left to select the entire 2nd row, then right click on the selected row and select “Insert 1 Above”. If you are adding multiple data, select the number of rows that is the same as the number of data you are adding, then right click on the rows and select “Insert 〇 above” to insert multiple rows at once.
9. In the inserted row, enter the date on the column A, weight on the column B. Optionally, enter the body fat % on the column C, note on the column F, etc. Please refer to the 1st row to see what to input on the which column.
※ Please DO NOT modify the 1st row! Be sure that the date is in the old -> new order, and enter the right data for the right column. If you don’t enter the data in the correct format, it may fail to import the data!
10. After entering all the past data, on your iPhone/iPod touch, open the “SimpleWeight” app and tap on the “Import/Export” button. Tap on the “Import” button and it will ask you if it is OK to replace the current data with the imported data. Tap on the “Overwrite and Import” button to proceed.
※ Please note that after you import the data, all the existing data on the device is replaced by the imported data and cannot be restored! (Unleass you are using the “iCloud Data History” feature.)
11. Open the Graph screen and confirm that the past data you have added on the Google Document Spread Sheet are displayed in the graph correctly.
